In April 2022, Kelly and I visited Burke Community Church to attend the Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) Story of Scripture, taught by Dr. Mark Yarbrough. What a unique firsthand experience! Dr. Yarbrough covered in two days and went from Genesis to Revelation in 16 hours. This instruction is also available as part of the DTS online learning program, but seeing it firsthand is a better experience. I was amazed that he could teach within what most would agree on and navigate around things/topics that might be domination-specific, totally avoiding any issues where people might disagree and get stuck trying to sort out various positions on a topic. His teaching catered to the whole body of Christ. Since that experience, I have wanted to bring the Story of Scripture to Annapolis.
DTS describes this as “The Story of Scripture is an exposition of the biblical narrative of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation. This conference emphasizes the relationships between all sixty-six books of the Bible and the unity of what God is doing and saying throughout the entirety of canonical and biblical history.” The beauty of this event is that all audiences and faith maturity have something to learn.
In partnership with Bay Area Community Church (BACC), DTS’ Story of Scripture will be in Annapolis on November 8 and 9, 2024. Kelly and I are so excited that this excellent teaching will be hosted at our home church and we are coordinating the event. Join us!!!
